چکیده

Based on defined User-to-Network Interconnection (UNI) as well as Network-to-Network Interconnection (NNI) types various interconnection modes are practicable. These modes allow a further description of interconnection models as well as architecture models including interconnection functions and related interfaces. Topics covered in this article comprise functional entities and related interfaces interconnecting Internet Protocol (IP) network domains as well as interfaces between these border functions. Mainly focussed functionalities are Session Border Controllers (SBC) from various vendors handling Voice over IP (VoIP) session control traffic, SIP traffic specifically. Furthermore, partial and not standardised topics belonging to sub-functions and reference points are disclosed. Prerequisites in view of the continuous work are treated of beyond analyses and classifications of standardisation even if not all open-end questions can be answered completely in subsequent studies.

A Decentral Architecture for SIP-based Multimedia Networks

The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a general protocol for session setup and management, e.g., for VoIP. Current SIP networks build on a fixed infrastructure that relies on static network entities. General problems with this infrastructure, e.g., in ubiquitous ad-hoc networks, lead to a trend of integrating peer-to-peer mechanisms into SIP. We propose a generic architecture for decentralis...

ملزومات امنیتی پیاده‌سازی IMS SIP سرور امن

IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) network is considered as an NGN (Next Generation Network) core networks by ETSI. Decomposition of IMS core network has resulted in a rapid increase of control and signaling message that makes security a required capability for IMS commercialization. The control messages are transmitted using SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) which is an application layer protocol. ...

On the Signaling Analysis of SIP-Based Terminal Mobility Management within IEEE 802.11 and 802.16 Heterogeneous Networks

This paper analyzes the SIP-based mobility management behavior within a heterogeneous network interconnecting IEEE 802.11-based wireless local area network (WLAN) and IEEE 802.16-based wireless metropolitan area network (WMAN). Our work focuses on signaling processes, during handoff between 802.11 and 802.16 networks. Particularly, the MAC layer technologies of 802.11 and 802.16 are examined in...

Denial-of-service detection and mitigation for SIP communication networks

The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is the multimedia communication protocol of the future. Used for Voice-over-IP (VoIP), Internet Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), its concepts are based on mature and open standards and its use is increasing rapidly within recent years. However, with its acceptance as a mainstream communication platform, security concerns b...
